In the 40 years since its foundation, VITRONIC has grown to become one of the world's leading drivers of innovation in the transport technology and automation sectors with a wide range of projects: Equipping major logistics centers in Europe and the USA, development and nationwide roll-out of speed enforcement and toll solutions in Europe and the Middle East, testing of safety critical vehicle components, to name just a few examples. Although we rarely encounter these solutions directly, they influence everyday safety and the processes behind them: Whether it is adapting our traffic to the needs of growing cities in a sustainable way, making logistics processes smoother or producing vehicles more safely before they hit the road. The focus is on creating a safe and sustainable world.

VITRONIC's first steps began in a living room in Wiesbaden, Germany. Founder Dr. Norbert Stein and his small team spent long nights working on the first optical navigation system for automated, driverless transport vehicles, a breakthrough back then in the 1980ies.

Technology has a special task - to make our lives better. In the 40 years of VITRONIC, it has always been important to us that what we do has meaning, because we really want to make a difference with our work, to positively impact peoples daily lifes.
Daniel Scholz-Stein CEO VITRONIC Gruppe

It soon became clear that the technology offered great potential in many different sectors and countries. For example, the combination of different technologies made it possible to identify barcodes on industrial containers for the first time in 1986. Through projects like this and in other industries, exciting partnerships and important projects were quickly formed at home and abroad, transforming VITRONIC into a truly global company. Widely known areas of expertise today are innovative traffic management. "Speed cameras" were replaced by powerful scanning Lidar systems to record and digitally document speeding violations and further increase the degree of automation in processing of violations. The result: less effort for public authorities, more road safety for everyone. The technology developed by the industrial machine vision pioneer proofed to decrease road fatalities in cities and whole countries all over the world.

Until today, VITRONIC remains to be a leading player in various industries with their experts exchanging on trends like AI, real-time data and video analytics. The network of the VITRONIC Group has been established in over 80 countries worldwide, enabling its worldwide success. However, the Wiesbaden site is and remains one of the most important, where over 900 employees research, develop, produce and work closely with their 500 colleagues in group companies across the world. The application of the companies’ core technologies in international markets makes it possible to create trends and synergies.

With this anniversary, VITRONIC can proudly look back on its strong growth into a global company. I am very much looking forward to working together with VITRONIC's teams and building another great success story. This can be based on years of experience and the perfect complementarity of the solutions provided by VITRONIC and other ITIS Holding companies.
